The olive oil sector will be reunited on the coming 29th and 30th of March in Madrid at a record-breaking worldwide event.
Prestigious professionals from seven different nationalities will be the key players of this year’s panel of tasting sessions and talks.
The tasting sessions’ program will begin with an exceptional selection of olive oils from California. This will be one of the first presentations of this gourmet product in Spain. And this unique tasting session will be led by Alexandra Kicenik Devarenne, one of the most relevant professionals within the olive oil sector in the United States.
However, California will not be the only region displaying their quality olive oils at the WOOE. Meknès-Fez (Morocco), Extremadura (Spain), Tunisia, Uruguay and Italy will also lead activities, whereby attendees will be able to examine the distinctiveness of each one of the olive oils presented.
Organic olive oils will have a privileged area thanks to the Tasting session & Talk about the winners of the 17th EcoTrama Competition.
The program of activities will be completed with the workshops conducted by GastrOleum, as well as the tasting session of EVOO edible caps.
Alongside all these tasting sessions, this year’s conference program will stand out more than ever thanks to the excellent panel of speakers, including: Abdellatif Ghedira, executive director of the International Olive Council, Toshiya Tada, director of Olive Japan, Doctor Luca Testi, researcher at the Department of Agronomy (IAS-CSIC: Institute of Sustainable Agriculture of the Spanish National Research Council), Giovanni Zucchi, vice-president of Oleificio Zucchi and Juan Peñamil, the Guide’s editor and director of Mercacei.

WORLD OLIVE OIL EXHBITION 2017
The World Olive Oil Exhibition which will be held on the coming 29th and 30th March 2017 at Madrid’s IFEMA, offers the best opportunity to stimulate an increasingly global market. This trade fair is mainly geared towards producing cooperatives and olive mills that seek to open new markets and exportation possibilities. For the 2017 fair, the WOOE is committed to gathering, in Madrid, the major international companies, guaranteeing an important presence of importers from the United States, the Middle East, Italy and Central Europe. Taking into account the active focus on olive oil by several emerging countries, an international event such as this trade fair is also an opportunity for the packaging sector to position itself in those emerging markets.
