187 olive oil companies will display and promote their products on the coming 29th and 30th of March at the World Olive Oil Exhibition

Throughout two days under one roof, those attending the fair will be able to discover the largest diversity of olive oils, due to the participation of nearly 200 olive oil companies. Protected Designations of Origin such as DO. Baena, PDO. Oli de Mallorca or PDO. Campo de Calatrava, large cooperatives such as the Group Montes Norte, Viñaoliva or the Olive Oil Association of Alcarria, packaging manufacturers, marketing companies, olive mills focused on the most Premium and gourmet markets, and an increasing number of organic olive oil companies:  all attend the WOOE with the very same objective: to do business.

Regarding visiting countries: China will be one of the key markets at the fair, thanks to the agreement, which has been signed between the World Olive Oil Exhibition and the Orient Group, the leading Spanish business group specialized in providing services to the Chinese community residing in Spain. Thanks to this collaboration, the WOOE will host a sizeable delegation of Chinese businessmen living in Spain as well as Chinese olive oil businessmen who will visit Madrid exclusively in order to attend this trade fair, alongside various Chinese media outlets.

The United States will also be one of the key countries at the 2017 WOOE; thanks to the participation of more than 20 businessmen who will visit for the first time and who come from different parts of the USA: Boston, Chicago, NYC and, of course, California. For the 2017 WOOE, Californian olive oils will open the tasting sessions’ program, and they will be presented by the prestigious expert, Alexandra Kicenik Devarenne, consultant and co-founder of Extra Virgin Alliance. This will be a unique opportunity to discover the olive oil wealth of this State in what is possibly the first official tasting session of Californian olive oil in Europe.

In addition to the Chinese and American delegations of businessmen, the 2017 WOOE will also gather other equally interesting markets for those producers who would like to open new export routes: Dubai, India, Oman, Lebanon, Iran, United Kingdom and Japan; as well as other already more well-known markets such as Italy and Greece, which will also be widely represented.

The producing companies that participate at the WOOE will have an exclusive space, where they will be able to exhibit their products. Furthermore, the fair also offers a wide variety of activities and areas focused on the promotion, knowledge, discovery and enjoyment of olive oil.

  • Olive Oil Bar: An area to taste in an independent way, this year’s 140 olive oil samples, and each of them will be fully documented so that attendees can discover them in an autonomous and professional manner.
  • Gourmet Area: Led by the chef Kike Piñeiro (chef at A Horta d’Obradoiro, in Santiago de Compostela) dedicates his creations for the 6th WOOE to the product’s origin, the earth, the flavor of the truly authentic, and to the quality of the EVOO
  • Delicatessen with Olive Oil: An area where multi-product purchasers can observe what it is like to work with olive oil in the making of other products such as chocolates, chips, processed food or cosmetics.
  • The Program of tasting sessions and conferences: Two of the most frequented contents of the activities, this event has become the most prestigious olive oil fair in Spain. PLEASE CHECK THE PROGRAM OF TASTING SESSIONS AND CONFERENCES HERE
